Sage Hill Inn & Spa

I was asked to make a wood box that was slim, could hold a credit card sized object that would be made of metal, and had some sort of lining that would not scare the metal in any way. They asked for my to also burn in their logo. Up till now I always did this by hand… But they wanted 20 boxes to start with. Time for a new tool If I could get my wife to approve.

Thanks to her ALLOWING me to get a Laser engraver the 20 boxes came out Beautiful.

This project was a variation on something I already make regularly, Pen Boxes. I used 4mm magnets to keep the boxes closed. They are strong magnets so no concerns with them coming off unless you pull the 2 halves apart. The new laser did a great job. I made a test run on the new laser with some scrap walnut and decided to turn it into a key chain as a gift/ demo.
