Kerri’s Mountains
This project was an idea Kerri requested from a picture of something similar she saw online.
The creation process…
Straight forward project. Started with a few sketches for Kerri to choose from. Once a design was settled on, off to my favorite store… the hardware store. Cut down to smaller pieces to make handling and lay out easier. Then I had to pull out my old trigonometry text books and refresh my math skills. In my defense, its been 13 years since my last math class. Once I got the math down, cutting the angles was pretty simple. I will admit to changing some of the mountain peaks to make the numbers easier. Once cut and glued. I filled the gaps with a wood putty and sanded the whole thing down to 220 grit sandpaper. Then painted with grey and white. Once painted, I added 4 keyholes to the back for a flush hang on the wall.
Over all dimensions are 63 inches wide by 47 inches tall by 3.5 inches thick.
